Well, it's not quite summer, but we're going to hit the beach this month anyway. For some reason, a lot of you have been requesting a beach romp recently, so let's do it! Our March meeting will be at Coronado Dog Beach. JB and I will be on vacation, so we'll miss this one, but we'll be there in spirit. Come on out and have a great time scampering in the waves.

For the future: A reminder that our April meetup will be down at Canines N Ewe for corgi sheepherding! This is now the moment when I'm going to ask you to tell me if you want your dog or dogs to participate. When you rsvp for the March meeting, you'll be asked if you plan to have your dog participate in the April sheepherding. We need to do this so that the folks who run the show can plan on having the correct number of sheep ready for our event. This is not a drop-dead commitment (in other words, you won't be committed financially if you can't make it), but we do want to get a fairly accurate idea. The cost per dog for 'playing with the sheep' is $35. I will give you more information about all this in early April.

Note that I will schedule an alternative location for April - for any of you who don't want to do the herding and would prefer to get together somewhere in town. Location to be announced in early April.

    • “ There wasnt really a certain place where people from the meetup gathered. The beach was full of other dogs so there wasnt any structure or people that I felt were with the meetup. There were some corgi's on the beach but they were spread all over. I hope maybe next time there is more structure to the meetup. But I had fun seeing all the dogs play around the beach anyway. ”

      “ Unfortunately, we were unable to attend. Frances has been having itchy swollen eyes for a little over a month and we took her to the vet who diagnosed it as a complication from her food allergies. She just went on medicines and a hypo-allergenic kibble diet which we hope will get her healthy again. Her eyes look much better and she appears happier than ever. We worried about taking her to the beach today in case sand got in her still sensitive eyes. I did look at all the wonderful pictures posted by Maxine and we all sorely regret having missed this one. It would have been Frances' first trip to the beach. Hopefully we will take her soon and get her tootsies wet. We definitely will see you all at the sheep herding MeetUp in June. Our warmest greetings to all of Frances' furry friends and their families!! ”
    • “ This was the 1st meetup or gathering that I attended. I enjoyed it and liked talking to some of the owners. All the dogs were very well behaved. I will be attending others as my schedule permits. ”
