There is a male and female Pem listed as Lost/Found at the San Diego South Shelter in Bonita. The shelter is not open until Tuesday and I sure hope the owners claim them. They probably came in together as it would be very unusual for two different Pems to be found on the same day. You can view them on the site the shelter uses: www.sddac.com

Update: Friday 11-6. Talked to the Animal Care Supervisor at the S.D. South Shelter this morning. She said that the owner reclaimed both Corgis and is having them spayed and neutered. Seems some maintenance people left a gate open and this pair escaped. Hope the owner has a looooong discussion with the person(s) who let the dogs out. For now, looks like a happy ending for all.

Ugh, that is such a nightmare of mine! I'm so glad the corgis were collected safely and returned home. Lucky lucky lucky....

Great to hear it turned out so well...I added a second fence to my front after the two rapscallions took
off down the sidewalk...it is just the fencing that we use at shows...stops them just long enough to
catch them when they are excited about escaping...usually when some kids run by...they usually
run all over their backyard which is sectioned off just for them...that is where they are allowed to
dig holes and play in the sand/dirt...(I added a few bags of childrens sand for them to play in)...JH

We put in a "double gate" system in our back yard. Basically there is a gate, then about 10 feet later, another gate. That way the gardeners and other people can close one gate before opening the second - preventing any little escape artists from dashing out before you can reach waaaay down to corgi level and catch them. Between the gates became a utility area for the garbage bins.

These "second fences" sound like a great idea. I may have a project for my husband in the works!wink

Max almost got out of the yard on the first day home. We thought his round little belly was too fat to get through the front gate, but I guess not! His body got half way through when my husband grabbed his back legs. We had to put up chicken wire until he got to big to fit through. We thought about putting in a secondary gate as well.
