Hi Everyone, Let's go to the beach! If you haven't been to Mukilteo before, just head straight down Mukilteo Blvd and follow past the ticket booth to the light. Take a left and into the large parking lot. From here, we can get into carpools and then back up to the ferry line. If we meet at the parking lot at a little before 1, that should give us time to get in cars and in line for the 1:30 sailing. If you'd prefer to meet us at the beach, follow Hwy 20 north from the ferry and take a left onto Double Bluff Rd and follow to end. It's about 10 minutes from the ferry to the beach. Rubber boots or sandels would be good for the surf, binos for waterfowl, fresh water, towels, balls and cameras (of course). We can either pick up sandwiches at the store or bring picnic lunches. Please let me know if you have questions, Jamie

Dining Dog Website Our last chance to meet-up in 2007 is a very special holiday party for the corgis at the Dining Dog Café & Bakery in Edmonds. The Dining Dog is set up just like a nice restaurant, where everybody (including the dogs) gets to sit at the table. The menu will have your corgis licking their lips: corgi cocktails, appetizers, a yummy entrée and even a doggie dessert. The cost is $10.00 per dog (cash or check only.) We humans will have to bring our own food, because this place is all about the dogs! If you can?t quite picture it, check out the link to their website. The dress code for humans is casual. Formal dress is optional for the dogs, and for those who want to dress up, there will be a holiday costume contest. Also, there will be a white elephant gift exchange so please ask each of your dogs to bring one of their toys that they are ready to part with, and help them wrap it. As mentioned above, your dog will be fed, but if you want to eat, bring something for yourself, or those who are interested can order pizza from a nearby place and have it delivered. Please note: There are hooks on the wall to attach the dogs' leashes to so they don't wander around during the meal or trip the wait staff. Extension leashes are discouraged in the restaurant, for obvious reasons, plus, they don't fit the hooks. So please be sure to bring a ?regular? leash to use in the restaurant. The party is from 12:30 ? 2:30. Afterward, to work off the big meal, we?ll head to the Edmonds off leash area, which is close by at 498 Admiral Way. If you prefer to come only for the party or only for the off leash park, that?s just fine. Either way, please try to join us for this event. It will be a lot of fun and a great way to end the year! Be sure to RSVP and let us know whether you plan to join us for the whole afternoon, just the party, or just the off leash park. Restaurant Address: 9635 Firdale Ave N, Firdale Village, Edmonds. 425-314-4612 / 206-542-6249 Directions to the Dining Dog Café & Bakery from I-5: Take the 244th St. SW / WA-104 exit (exit 177) toward Edmonds/Kingston Ferry. Merge onto 244th St SW. Head west for just over 2 miles. Firdale Village is on the right. Directions to the off Leash Park from the Dining Dog Café & Bakery: Go north on Firdale Ave toward 100th Ave W. (Firdale Ave becomes 100th Ave W.) Turn left onto Edmonds Way/WA-104 and follow signs toward the Kingston Ferry. Turn left onto W. Dayton St. (West Dayton St. becomes Admiral Way.) Turn South on Admiral Way and go to the end. The off leash area is south of Marina Beach.

Here's a fun way to get a little exercise and help a good cause at the same time. The run/walk will start at 9:00 am at the Renton Community Center and travel along the Cedar River Trail before looping back to the Community Center. Competitive runners, fun runners, walkers, junior athletes, families (with or without dogs) are all invited to be part of the Canine Candy Cane Fun Run & Walk. Free, after-race pictures with Santa will also be available. Pre-registration is $20 (includes t-shirt). Race day registration is $25 (no t-shirt guaranteed). Registration must be postmarked by November 24. Pet Food Drive: Bring a can of pet food to be donated to the Renton Food Bank to help the pets of those in need. The course is flat and we won't be in a hurry, so this should be a good walk for dogs and people of all activity levels. We'll meet in front of the community center at 8:45 am. If you plan to join us, please be sure to RSVP so we can be looking for you. Directions 2. From the North: Take I-405 southbound to Exit #4 (Renton-Enumclaw). Go through the first stoplight, then turn left on Maple Valley Highway (South 169). Pass under I-405 and turn right at the second light. Follow the entrance driveway to the large parking lot. The Renton Community Center, Henry Moses Aquatic Center and Carco Theatre share the same parking lot. From the South: Take I-405 northbound to Exit #4 (Maple Valley-Enumclaw). This exit will divide. Take the first exit to Maple Valley-Enumclaw (South 169). At the stop sign at the end of the off ramp, turn right. At the second stoplight turn right. Follow the entrance driveway to the large parking lot. The Renton Community Center, Henry Moses Aquatic Center and Carco Theatre share the same parking lot. http://rentonwa.gov/ uploadedFiles/Living /CS/REC/Fun%20Run(1) .PDF

If you have watched Cesar's show you know just how well he connects with dogs and their people. If you haven't seen him, it's time to get to know him! We have a couple of options. We could buy a bunch of tickets based on how many people RSVP to go to the event or everyone could just buy their own ticket. It would be much more fun to everyone to sit together, but that would mean people would have to send money to one organizer ahead of the date. I expect that this event will fill quickly. Below I've posted the clip from the website and the price of tickets. Please let me know if you are interested in this event as soon as possible. http://www.dogpsycho logycenter.com/inter act/seminars.php The star of the Emmy-nominated hit series "Dog Whisperer" brings his magic and wisdom about dogs and dog psychology to this unique live special event. Fans of the show and dog lovers alike will be immersed in Cesar's world for three compelling hours, as the best-selling author of Cesar's Way reveals his secrets to happier, healthier relationships between humans and their canine companions. Participants will come to understand how people can inadvertently play a role in their dog's behavioral "issues"; but also, how to change this dynmaic by learning how to see the world through a dog's eyes. Using state-of-the-art multimedia to illustrate his unique concepts and ideas - including his famous "calm-assertive energy" - Cesar keeps audiences spellbound as he opens them up to amazing new insights about man's best friend - and also, about themselves. *$200 ticket holders will have an opportunity to meet Cesar after the seminar. Dogs not allowed at seminar, unless service dogs.
