A trip to Double Bluff off leash park on Whidbey Island has become a February tradition for our group.

To get there, take the Mukilteo Ferry. If you haven't been to Mukilteo before, just head straight down Mukilteo Blvd and follow the signs to the ticket booth. The ferry ride from Mukilteo to Whidbey Island takes about 20 minutes.

Upon arrival at the ferry dock on Whidbey, just drive off the ferry and head north for about 7 miles. Take a left onto Double Bluff Rd and follow to the end. It's about 10 minutes from the ferry to the beach.

Note that we're listing the time for this event as 12:00. That means aim to be on the 12:00 ferry. That'll put you at the off-leash park at about 12:30 - 12:45. We'll gather on the beach near the entrance to the off leash part of the beach. A herd of corgis is pretty hard to miss and we'll hang around the entrance till 12:45 before heading north up the beach.

For those who want to carpool, lets use the message board to facilitate that. If you are taking a car and have room for rider(s), please post; likewise, if you need a ride, post a request. You can match yourselves up and make arrangements to meet. A good place to meet is in the big parking lot to the left of the ferry dock, near the lighthouse.

Things to bring: Rubber boots or sandals would be good for the surf, binoculars for waterfowl, fresh water, towels, balls and cameras (of course).

Last time I went in the car, with no passengers, it was about $14 round trip.

Does anyone know how much the round trip on the Mukilteo Ferry will cost?

I don't have any corgis to bring, but I have a boyfriend who loves and misses his two corgis who are far away living with his parents, and we'll love meeting/playing with everyone at the meet-up! People included:)

Yes, all "four of us" - two people and two corgis. This will be Zack's first time "off leash" in a big area - so it will be good with helpful, corgi-knowing eyes to supervise!

    •  Great Weather, fun time with the corgi's and meeting new members :0)
    •  Great location. This was my first meet up. I'm glad we went. There is nothing quite as wonderful as a bunch of corgis romping together.
    •  Arlo and I had a great time! We're already looking forward to the next get together.

Soo much fun - great first time trip for us. Our lil pup was tuckered out completely when he got home. :) Thanks to everyone!

Love this venue - great people, great dogs. Lots of room - so fewer issues with "fights" etc.
