Since this event is the same weekend as our camping trip, there won't be an organizer at this event. But we wanted everyone to know about it because it is very fun! All of the details are at CPWCC.org, just click on events and you can access the details and the registration form. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me or post it on the message board. If you are planning to go, I strongly recommend registering in advance. This event is for Pembroke Welsh Corgis only, apologies to our Cardi and Corgi mix friends.

Kate and Jon, I'm sorry you had a bad experience at EweTopia, that sounds horrible. This event is a little different in that they are not doing any kind of training with your dog, just getting them out there to see how they react to the sheep (or ducks if you prefer). I don't know of anyone who has had anything but a positive experience at this event. I also wanted to mention that the Corgi club is also doing CGC evaluations that day if anyone is interested in that.

I can't go, but I strongly recommend that you go. It is amazing to see a corgi work. Doubly amazing to see YOUR corgi work. Word of further advice: If your dog works the sheep, don't leave it at that. You can develop your human-dog bond with further training. It is much harder and much more rewarding and much more fun than obedience, agility, flyball, tracking or any other dog sport.

We have been to Ewetopia and didn't enjoy the experience. My female has emotional issues from being abused early in life. She shy and reacts negativing when approached on leash. They thought it was an aggression issue and chose to throw things at her when she didn't do what was asked of her. Kinda weird and it really didn't help her. We would not go again.

My only complaint was the way the CPWCC handled the paperwork. Luna actually did herd the ducks, but it didn't end up on her form so she didn't earn her certificate. We definitely won't be doing this event again.

What a great experience for both my corgi boys. Ozzie, our newest member of the family and a rescue, impressed us all. This 22-pounder fell into a natural herding rhythm within seconds of meeting the sheep. His enthusiasm was contagious and entertaining. Duncan, our beauty King, also did well but has a tendency to get distracted even in the middle of herding. None the less, we all enjoyed the experience and would do it again.
