We are looking at adopting aother Corgi. We have 1yr. old PWC Hank and considering adopting another male Corgi. Both are fixed. Does anyone have information on how this breed is with other males living under the same roof???

Stacy,

I'm no expert, but I've only heard about problems if you have two females.

I agree, I think it's the females you have to worry about. Female corgis are supposed to be more dominant, bossier, more jealous and more stubborn. (lucky me) I think two males would probably get along fine.

Stacy, are you thinking about adopting that Jacksonville corgi? I've been so worried about him but my husband and I can't take on another corgi right now.

I think the only thing you can do is see how they act around each other. You could take him on a trial basis and if it doesn't work out I know there are people who joined the group who said they wanted a corgi. It might be the opportunity they are looking for.

I think the main issue is the temperment of your current dog. How does he do when socializing with other dogs? Does he try to be dominant with them?

I have two male cogis who get along wonderfully. However, we got out second corgi knowing that the first one had a very easy-going temperment. Even still, we made sure that the second corgi (who was already a year old) would not initially have full run of the house or other such "full" privileges that the first corgi had "earned". Over time, we eased the second corgi into more and more of the first corgi's "world" and this has worked really well.

Good luck!
